May 4, 2016 12:15 pm
A simple mailbox makeover can add an instant curb appeal boost to your home! If you are planning to sell your home, your mailbox will be part of potential buyers’ first impression because it is one of the first things they see when approaching your home. Here are some easy ideas to makeover your mailbox:
Plant colorful flowers – If space allows, plant a small flower garden around the base of your mailbox. Use this to add a burst of color and make your front yard look more welcoming and approachable! For more information, click here.
Add fresh paint – If your mailbox is looking a little worn, one of the simplest ways to spruce it up is with a can of spray paint. Use colors to compliment your home accents and replace or paint the wooden post. Black is always a great option for a classic look. Additionally, you can purchase metal numbers to attach to the post to help people find your home and add a great finishing touch.
Want to try something unique? How about a faux copper finish? By painting the wooden base with black spray paint and using a metallic spray paint for the box, you can create a DIY faux copper mailbox! Follow these instructions to learn more.
Brick and Stone – Start a weekend DIY project and build your own brick or stone mailbox. Use elements that will compliment your home to create a luxurious look. Watch the video below for instructions.
