Covington Community Park & Soccer Field
This 30-acre open meadow features an array of recreational opportunities amidst a large forest, green hills, and over 1 mile of walking trails. There are 2 play areas for different children age ranges, a zipline for all ages, a soccer/football field, an outdoor stage at the Margaret Harto Pavilion, a tennis court, designated areas with exercise machines, picnic tables, benches, and picnic shelters with BBQ grills.
Soos Creek Trail
The Soos Creek Trail travels through heavily wooded forests grazing the edges of Covington and Kent. The trail runs alongside the Soos Creek, leading from the scenic Lake Meridian to Meeker Middle School. The entire trail is paved, but there is also a soft path adjacent to it that people use for horse riding.
Shopping Center
Located in the southern section of the city, Covington has a large shopping center that has many well-known stores including Walmart, Fred Meyer, Costco, Safeway, and Home Depot. Within this large plaza you can also find a library, post office, a gym, and multiple restaurants.
Covington Events
The city hosts events every year that range from concerts to festivals. The most popular event, Covington Days Festival, takes place every July and spans over a weekend. It includes a parade, carnival games, arts and crafts centers, family activities, live entertainment, and even watermelon eating contests! A few other events hosted in Covington are Summer Splashtacular, KidsFest, Outdoor Family Movie, and Spooky Swims.
